I look at the window cold (before I start up in the morning). I figure all the oil has had a chance to drain back down into the crankcase. As far as oil blend, I buy golden spectro synthetic blend 20w-50w. I asume it's not fully synthetic sense it says blend on the bottle. Maybe your right, it is 100% synthetic. All I know it that it seems to work.
